🏞️ Tour Overview
Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai, meaning "Mountain of God" in the Maasai language, is an active volcano and one of Tanzania’s most spiritually and geologically unique sites. Located near Lake Natron in the eastern Rift Valley, it's the only volcano in the world that erupts natrocarbonatite lava—a rare, low-temperature lava that appears black in daylight and white when it cools. The trek is demanding, typically beginning around midnight, and takes climbers to the summit by sunrise. From the top, you’ll witness a surreal sunrise over Lake Natron, Mount Meru, and even Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. This is a bucket-list climb for adventurers wanting to conquer one of the world’s most unusual and sacred peaks.
