Arrive in Kigali and meet your safari guide for a warm welcome. Begin with a city tour that includes the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a local craft market, and scenic viewpoints. Learn about Rwanda’s past, resilience, and bright future before transferring to your hotel.

After breakfast, drive east to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only savannah park and home to the Big Five. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and then head out for your first game drive. Keep an eye out for giraffes, elephants, zebras, and various antelope species.

Spend the day exploring Akagera's rich ecosystems. Journey through its northern plains in search of lions, leopards, rhinos, and large herds of buffalo. After lunch, enjoy a relaxing boat safari on Lake Ihema, where you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife.

Depart Akagera after breakfast and enjoy a scenic cross-country drive through the lush hills of northern Rwanda. Stop for lunch en route and arrive at your lodge near Volcanoes National Park in the late afternoon.

Today is the highlight of your trip — gorilla trekking! After an early breakfast and briefing at park headquarters, trek through misty rainforest to find your assigned gorilla family. Spend an awe-inspiring hour with these magnificent creatures. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest, or enjoy an optional village visit in the afternoon.

Meal Plan: Full Board
After a leisurely breakfast, drive back to Kigali. Time permitting, visit a local art center or market for souvenirs before being transferred to the airport for your international flight.
