Your journey begins with a scenic morning drive from Kigali to Akagera National Park. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch overlooking the savannah.
Later in the afternoon, embark on your first game drive through the park’s rolling hills and plains, where you may spot giraffes, elephants, zebras, and antelope species. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner
Rise early for a full-day safari adventure through Akagera’s varied habitats. Traverse the southern woodlands, open plains, and northern wetlands in search of lions, rhinos, leopards, and herds of buffalo.
Stop for a picnic lunch in the park, then continue your journey through the northern sector where large concentrations of game gather. Return to your lodge at sunset.

After breakfast, enjoy a boat safari on Lake Ihema, one of Akagera’s most scenic experiences. Spot hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of water birds, including African fish eagles and kingfishers.
After the boat trip, begin your drive back to Kigali with an optional stop at a local craft market. Drop-off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport.
